Finding Equilibrium

Returning from a whirlwind trip, visiting and conducting business in Germany, Austria and Italy, I needed to find equilibrium again. My body and mind get thrown off with a 9-hour time change that despite all the years of practice still takes a week to overcome, each time I travel back and forth. Returning to family and friend, food and work our routines takes time. I never feel like I have quite arrived until I have been there for a week. I want to rush the process. Often, I have mumbled the words “Beam me up, Scotty!” wishing that I could be transported to the next destination in nanoseconds, just like in the popular Star Trek movies. I am learning that returning is an important part of the journey. Returning is not instantaneous and it’s not complete even when the actual flight has touched down. Returning is not complete until you have connected with all the people and places that matter to you. Only then does it feel you have reached equilibrium. What is your experience with finding equilibrium after an extended trip?
