Frederick Andresen
The challenge of building successful businesses from scratch in international markets has been the life story and career of Frederick R. Andresen. Always a pioneer, he constructs international ventures by building successful teams in culturally challenging environments. High tech or high fashion, it is about understanding the people and the market. While respecting established norms, he is known for successful contrarian approaches to commercial excellence in global markets, most recently Russia and Central Europe, and of course America. Taking the “road less traveled” has often been an unfailing path to success.
In Russia he founded DirectNet Telecommunications, named “1997 Company of the Year” by The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia and was named “Outstanding American Pioneer in Russia” by the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce, living there six years.
He is a graduate of the Thunderbird School of Global Management and Colorado State University, Officer, U.S. Army (Armor) serving in Korea.
He is Author of “Walking on Ice, An American Businessman in Russia” and other novels and articles in foreign and domestic media. He was featured speaker, “Reconstructing Russia,” Milken 2000 Global Conference; Fifth Annual Russian Investment Symposium, Harvard University 2001.
